Hendrick Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Pulmonary Rehabilitation is an evidence-based, multidisciplinary program for patients with chronic respiratory diseases who are symptomatic and have decreased quality of life. This program is one of only eight in the state of Texas that is nationally certified by the AACVPR.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation should be considered for patients with COPD, and other chronic respiratory diseases that have shortness of breath, decreased quality of life, impaired exercise tolerance, and decreased ability to perform activities of daily living.
The goal of Pulmonary Rehabilitation is to improve “quality of life”, reduce symptoms, and teach patients how to manage COPD. The program includes:
- Educational sessions including topics such as nutrition, medication, and breathing techniques
- Individually tailored exercise program
- Exercise maintenance program
Better Breathers Club meets at Pulmonary Rehabilitation the third Tuesday of each month at 3 p.m.
